Abandoned House Burns To The Ground
Fire broke out just after 2 p.m. yesterday in Goodland, St. Michael. By the time the smoke cleared three people were lucky to still have their home standing, while an unoccupied house was destroyed.Six fire officers under the command of acting Station Officer Christopher Edwards and Leading Fire Officer Alex Bynoe responded to the blaze which involved an unoccupied two bedroom, one bathroom house owned by Clifford Bishop, of Constant, St. George. An occupied three bedroom, one bathroom house owned by Rita Murray, of Bush Hall, St. Michael also received damage to the siding boards, three windows and the trimming boards.
Two tenders, one from the headquarters at Probyn Street, The City and another from the Arch Hall Fire Station responded to the blaze. (JRB)
