House Fires Engage Fire Service Yesterday
Three house fires engaged the Barbados Fire Service yesterday, the first occurred at 1:50 a.m. in Lower Carters Gap, Christ Church the second occurred at 4:17 a.m. at Mount Standfast, St James and the other at 1:18 p.m. at Quarry Road, Eden Lodge, St Michael.Two fire tenders with nine officers from Fire Service Headquarters responded to the blaze at Eden Lodge under the command of Chief Fire Officer Wilfred Marshall, acting Deputy Chief Fire Officer Randolph Cox, Divisional Officer Lloydson Phillips and acting Station Officer Gordon Boxill.
One stone and timber structure with contents was extensively damaged and another structure slightly damaged by fire. Police and Fire officials are conducting investigations into the cause of these fires.
