Firefighters Receive Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal
Approximately 34 officers of the Barbados Fire Service received the Queen's Diamond Jubilee award yesterday during a brief ceremony held at the Airport Fire Station.
The presentations were made by Mrs. Gayle Francis-Vaughan, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal is a commemorative medal created in 2012 to mark the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne.
The commemorative medal was presented to the officers in celebration and recognition of their dedicated service. All of the recipients have completed 20 - 25 years in the fire service. (Photo: Fire Officer Glyne Bourne proudly wears his medals.)
